Canandaigua man flown to hospital with severe burns

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Canandaigua man was flown to the hospital with severe burns Monday.
Ontario County Sheriff’s Deputies and Canandaigua Fire and Ambulance responded to a North Road home for a report of a man on fire at around 4:15 p.m.
Deputies say the fire had been extinguished by bystanders when they arrived, but they found 61-year-old Robert Burtis with severe burns behind a garage.
He was flown to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight.
Deputies say no buildings were involved in the fire.
