CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) – Communities throughout the area and country are hosting March For Our Lives rallies on Saturday, June 11 for changes in gun laws.

People also rallied here in our area, including at the Ontario County courthouse in Canandaigua.

They came out with signs and held them to show passing cars, calling for ‘gun law reforms.’ "I want people to realize that the majority of people are in favor of sensible gun control and they can feel comfortable voicing that opinion themselves and not be afraid, said organizer Meg Huff.

I am here because my grandchildren, my grandchildren, cannot afford the luxury of sitting it out and that’s why I’m here," said Margaret Morrison.

The house has passed bills that would raise the age limit to buy semi-automatic weapons from 18 to 21, and establish federal "red flag" laws, however, they’re expected to stall in the senate.
