FARMINGTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — Farmington Urgent Care is closing to offset what UR Medicine Thompson Health is calling significant staffing challenges.

The center is closing this Sunday, Sept. 19. However, the space is still going to be used as an outpatient clinic for high-risk patients being treated for COVID-19.

UR Medicine Thompson Health says this is being done to consolidate and redeploy critical staff across the health system, helping offset the significant staffing challenges they currently face.

Officials say this decision is temporary and they are encouraging the community to use Canandaigua and Newark Urgent Care locations instead.

Farmington Pediatrics, OB/GYN, Rehabilitation Services, and HealthWorks will remain open at this location.
