GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — Greece Police say the 17-year old daughter of murder victim Ottlia Piros has been arrested and charged in connection with her shooting death.

She's been identified by police as Hannah Thomas. Police say Thomas was arrested in Missouri along with her 16-year old boyfriend, identified as Richard Avila. Both currently live in Arizona.

It was exactly one week ago Tuesday when police went to Piros's home located on West Parkway and discovered a dead woman inside. Chief Drew Forsythe can only describe the death of the 36-year old Piros as an execution.

”She was shot at close range in her head. To me that’s an execution,” Forsythe said.

He continued by saying Thomas was visiting her mother for the holidays. He believes the teens left the area soon after the shooting in Piros’ vehicle. On Dec. 29, Thomas and Avila were pulled over for speeding in St. Roberts, Missouri, and were subsequently arrested after providing inconsistent information on their identity. Police also found a handgun in the car.

”Ballistic analysis of the weapon was completed, and it was determined this firearm was used to murder Ottilia," Forsythe said. "Although the individuals responsible for Ottilia’s death have been arrested our work on this case is far from over. Our focus moving forward is to prepare this case for successful prosecution so that justice can be served.”

Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich applauded police for their work.

"It’s been over 10 years since we’ve had a homicide of this nature in the Town of Greece, and we wanted to make sure that the perpetrators were brought to justice firmly and swiftly, and that was a paramount part of what took place,” Reilich said.

Forsythe says both teens will be extradited back to Rochester soon. Both are charged with second degree murder, and criminal possession of a weapon. When asked about a possible motive, Forsythe said he didn’t know of any at the moment. Piros operated a hair and nail salon out of her home before she was killed.
