CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Happiness House is breaking ground on its new affordable housing for seniors and seniors facing homelessness.

The Lieutenant Gov. Kathleen Hochul will join Happiness House and community members for Friday’s ceremony at 1 p.m.

The campus holds a total of 30 units, 22 for seniors and families and eight apartments in a second building for seniors ages 55 and older. Four of the eight units will be set aside for seniors experiencing homelessness.

Rent subsidies and supportive services funded by the NYS Office of Addiction Services and Supports, through the Empire State Supportive Housing Initiative, will be allocated to nine households.
