Ontario County Sheriff’s Office gets new K9

CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Ontario County Sheriff’s Office is welcoming a new hire: K9 Malcolm!

He’s named after late Deputy Malcolm Strong, who served the OCSO from 1978 until he was killed in an on-duty vehicle crash on Feb. 2, 1983.

K9 Malcolm and his handler, Deputy Brett Lowry, will spend the next several weeks training to become certified in patrol, narcotics, and bomb detection.
