One dead in Ontario County crash

SENECA, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Ontario County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal crash in the Town of Seneca on Saturday. 

The two-car crash occurred at the intersection of County Road 4 and County Road 20 in the Town of Seneca around 11:48 a.m. Deputies say 63-year William White of Clifton Springs was heading south on County Road 20 when he was failed to stop at the stop sign with County Road 4. He was then struck by a westbound 2020 Ford on the driver's side of the vehicle. 


White was transported to Clifton Springs Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The two people in the Ford were taken to Thompson Hospital with minor injuries. 

Deputies say the investigation is ongoing, but have revealed they believe all involved were using their seatbelts at the time of the crash. The intersection ended up closed for about three hours. 

Fire departments from Hopewell, Stanley, Seneca Castle, and Clifton Springs all aided in the operation.
