ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Transportation Security Administration officers stopped a woman from Albion with a loaded gun at Philadelphia International Airport.

TSA officers detected a .22 caliber handgun loaded with nine bullets, with one in the chamber, at a security checkpoint on Sept. 12 - one day after the 19th anniversary of 9/11.

The officer spotted the gun in the checkpoint X-ray machine.

The Philadelphia Police were called and confiscated the gun, a loaded magazine with eight bullets and a single loose bullet. The woman received a citation. 

TSA can issue a civil penalty to travelers who have guns with them at a checkpoint. Details on how to properly travel with a firearm are posted on the TSA's website.
