BATAVIA, N.Y. (WHEC) — Three western New York counties are urging Governor Cuomo to set up a regional mass COVID vaccination site at Genesee Community College.

In a letter to the governor Tuesday, Public Health Directors in Genesee, Orleans, and Wyoming counties wrote the site would provide the vaccine to rural communities.

The letter argues these counties have very limited vaccine allocations and are medically underserved. Health leaders believe a clinic could deal out more than 2,000 shots a day.

Genesee County uses GCC as its primary vaccination location.

Cuomo's office has not commented.
