ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Another election is here, and News10NBC has all the information you need to know in this voter guide.
Tuesday, June 22, 2021, is New York's primary election. Registered voters will cast ballots for their favored candidates to run in the general election on Nov. 2.

As of the Monroe County Board of Elections' 7 p.m. update, the county has received a total of 2,500 absentee ballots out of the 6,161 it sent, which is about 40.6%. Where is my polling place?
Polling places will be open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. on June 22.
If you’re planning to vote in person on June 22, you can find your polling place on the state’s Board of Election website.
We encourage you to check your polling place before heading out to vote, as it may not be the same one you’ve used in the past.
You can also call your local county’s elections officials. The state’s Board of Election website has a list of phone numbers online.
When and how do I request a mail-in ballot or absentee ballot?
You can request an absentee ballot by:
Absentee Ballot Deadlines
June 15 - Last day to postmark an application or letter of application by mail, or send an email or fax for an absentee ballot.
June 21 - Last day to apply in-person for an absentee ballot.
June 22 - Last day to postmark ballot. Must be received by the local board of elections no later than June 29.
June 22 - Last day to deliver ballot in-person to the local board of elections (by someone other than the voter).
When is early voting?
Saturday, June 12 through Sunday, June 20. Click here for a list of dates, times, and locations of local early voting sites.
I am not enrolled in a political party. Can I vote in primary elections?
No. New York state's primaries are closed, meaning only members of that particular political party can vote in a primary election.
What if I want to change my party affiliation?
It's too late. You would have had to do so by midnight on Feb. 16.

What if I have issues at polling locations?
You can call the state's Election Protection Hotline at (800) 771-7755, submit complaints online, or email email@example.com. The hotline and digital forms are accessible in multiple languages.
The hotline will be open during the early voting period from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, June 12, through Sunday, June 20, and between 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. on Election Day, Tuesday, June 22. The office also has an online guide for frequently asked questions.
What happens next?
The winning candidates of each party will go on to face the winning candidates of the opposing party and any third-party or independent candidates in the general election on Nov. 2.
