ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Now that absentee ballots are going out, some already getting mailed in. What’s next? We know many of you have never voted this way before.

News10NBC’s Brennan Somers keeps getting some form of this question: How do I know my ballot has been received and counted?

News10NBC asked Monroe County election officials if they have an absentee tracking database. The answer is yes.

You can go to their website, click “Has my absentee ballot been mailed/received by BOE?”

Then put in your name, date of birth, and address. A green check mark will appear showing your party info and absentee ballot status.

Having said all that, we know there are still skeptics out there. If it makes you feel more comfortable, remember you can drop off absentee ballots in-person early.

There is another issue — not every county has an online tracker. Ontario County is one of those counties that does not have one.

Officials there say it comes down to resources, but they will try to help you if you reach out to let you know your status. Keep in mind, you won’t be alone.
