ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The first meeting of the new interstate task force on illegal guns was held Wednesday.

Gov. Kathy Hochul said more than 50 law enforcement agencies are exchanging data, resources and ideas in an effort to combat gun violence.

The group talked about how to improve data-sharing across state lines and a rise in the number of "ghost guns", which don’t have serial numbers, being used in crimes.

Agencies from nine states including Connecticut, Ohio, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and New Jersey, are in the task force.
