ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — It was one of the most chaotic days in Rochester over the past year. Following a peaceful Black Lives Matter protest downtown on May 30, violence and looting spread across the city.

Then, there was a beating caught on camera. It happened right outside the Rochester Fire Equipment Company on Monroe Avenue.

Natalie asked News10NBC’s Brennan Somers: Did they ever find/arrest the two young men who beat the woman outside her apartment (off Monroe Ave kitty-corner to the Strong Museum) with a 2 x 4 when rioting broke out during summer protests?

The footage shows looters use two-by-fours and a ladder to smash their way into the business and a woman who lives in an apartment upstairs and her husband try to stop it. Then it’s an all-out assault on the couple.

It’s been about nine months since that day.

Police did get leads after a video of the attack went viral, but the case today is far from closed. Officers say they’ve made no arrests.

If you know anyone involved in this police want you to call Crimestoppers (585) 423-9300 or 911.
