ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— We’re following up on another recent Good Question, and it has to do with voting, as New York is looking into permanently expanding voting by mail.

It’s something the state tried on a wide scale for the first time this year, while also trying to reform its slow process for counting absentee ballots.

A proposed constitutional amendment would do away with the rule limiting absentee voting to people who are ill, have a physical disability, or will be out of town on Election Day.

The bill would also allow counties to start counting absentee ballots as they come in.
