17-year-old accused of killing mother waives extradition back to Rochester

GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Arizona girl accused of killing her mother in Greece waived extradition and will be returned to New York to face charges of second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.

Hannah Thomas is accused of killing her mother, 36-year-old Ottilia Piros. Piros was found exactly two weeks ago, dead from a gunshot wound on her kitchen floor in her West Parkway home.

17-year-old Thomas and her 16-year-old boyfriend, Richard Avila, were arrested last week in Missouri. Avila is also facing charges of second degree murder and criminal possession of a weapon.
