ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Rochester Police have identified the two men shot to death on State Street early Sunday morning.
Police say 36-year-old Glenn Burden and 31-year-old Travis Johnson were killed, and two others were shot, but are expected to be okay.
In a news conference Sunday afternoon, Rochester Police Captain Frank Umbrino said officers were called to the scene at 429 State Street around 1 a.m. When they arrived, they were told about a shooting that happened. Umbrino said a Halloween party was happening inside on an upper floor of the building, police estimate roughly 200 people had attended, though the crowd was smaller by the time police got there.
Umbrino says police are working to get more information from people who attended the party.
In the same news conference, Rochester Police Deputy Chief Andre Anderson reiterated the department's anti-violence initiative, which was first announced on Friday. Since the news conference Friday, three people have been killed, including this incident. Anderson says change will take time and a collaborative effort.
The major crimes unit is investigating but no arrests have been made.
