GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — Two new businesses will be coming to the Town of Greece soon.

Hobby Lobby will be moving into the old Ashley Furniture store at the corner of West Ridge and Fetzner roads, Greece Town Supervisor Bill Reilich announced Tuesday.

He said the store will get a 12,000 square foot expansion, making it almost 70,000 square feet. He did not provide an estimated time for construction to begin or the store to open.

Tom Wahl’s will also be moving into the old Carmines location on Maiden Lane and adding 1,800 square feet on to the space, Reilich announced. He said town officials have met with representatives from the company to get the construction approvals they need to start building before the holidays in hopes of opening in the spring.

Reilich said the openings follow the town’s new zoning provisions adopted as part of its Comprehensive Plan strategy aiming to encourage “growth without sprawl” by filling vacant buildings.
