2 Rochester men arrested after CBP finds loaded Glock on Peace Bridge

BUFFALO, N.Y. (WHEC) — Two Rochester men with prior convictions were arrested on Saturday because New York State Police say US Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) found a loaded handgun in their vehicle after they took a wrong turn on the Peace Bridge.

It happened shortly after 8 p.m. Troopers say CBP found a loaded Glock 19, four large capacity magazines and 50 rounds of ammunition.

Trooper say Mitchell Stokes Jr., 31, was the driver and Brian D. Brookins, 44, was the passenger.

Both of them were charged with second degree criminal possession of a weapon for having a loaded firearm somewhere other than a home or business, four counts of third degree criminal possession of a weapon for the magazines and third degree criminal possession of a weapon for having prior convictions, which are Class D felonies.

Stokes and Brookins were taken to the City of Buffalo lock up to await arraignment, troopers said.
