3 charges dismissed in trial of former head of Rochester Housing Authority

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A federal judge has dropped three charges against the former head of the Rochester Housing Authority, George Moses.
Court info shows the charges were dropped with prejudice on Thursday. This means the charges are gone permanently. Moses is still accused of more than 20 other charges, which include money laundering, bribery, wire fraud, and theft.
Federal prosecutors say he used public funds like a personal piggy bank using the money for:
- A Carnival cruise vacation
- Spa services on a Royal Caribbean cruise
- Four guns
- A family YMCA membership
- An NRA membership
- Essential oils and other health products
- Products for a multilevel marketing business
- Dental expenses
- Tickets to a New York Knicks basketball game at Madison Square Garden
- Repairs and items for his personal vehicle
- Amusement park accommodations
- Immigration services for a friend
- Travel-related expenses
- A Netflix subscription
- A time-share in Florida for about $20,000
Last month the judge granted his request for a fully vaccinated jury, which his attorneys made citing concerns that the trial could be delayed if an unvaccinated juror were to test positive for COVID-19.
Co-defendants Adam McFadden and Janis White previously pleaded guilty for their involvement in the alleged scheme.
The defense is now putting on its case.
