3rd man facing federal charges in connection to actions at protest

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A third man is facing federal charges in connection to his alleged actions during a protest over the death of Daniel Prude.

Kyle Bradley Davis, 32, of Rochester, was charged with civil disorder for allegedly pointing a laser at officers’ eyes at the Public Safety Building on Sept. 8.

Prosecutors say officers approached Davis, who yelled that he did not trust the police officer one bit before running down South Fitzhugh Street.

An officer chased him and tackled him. Prosecutors say Davis attempted to get away but was arrested.

A black laser was allegedly found in his sweatshirt pocket during the arrest.

The arresting officer sustained a fractured orbital bone during the arrest and a cut under his left eye, which still has blurred vision according to prosecutors.

If convicted, Davis faces a maximum of five years in prison.
