Benefit to be held Sunday in honor of Gates Fireman Joseph Manuse

GATES, N.Y. (WHEC) — A benefit will be held on Sunday for a Gates Firefighter who died after being stung by a bee.

Joseph Manuse, 48, died last September from complications of a bee sting. Manuse served as the Gates Fire Department's fire prevention officer and its public information officer. He was a volunteer fireman for 29 years and worked in Gates for 11 years.


The event will raise money for the Joseph Manuse Residential Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Detector Foundation. The benefit will take place at Pineapple Jacks on Spencerport Road from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. 

There will be live music featuring Rescue 11 Band and Tryst Rochester as well as a magic show. The event will be emceed by News10NBC Nikki Rudd.
