PERINTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — As the community is focused on getting COVID-19 vaccines, our furry friends also need to get their vaccines.

The Town of Perinton held a free drive-thru rabies vaccination clinic on Saturday. 

Thanks to the help from Monroe County and some local veterinarians, the town was able to vaccinate 260 dogs and cats!

In addition, Perinton Town Clerk Jen West and her staff were able to issue 19 dog licenses, including six new ones. 

The hours and locations of the next free rabies clinics are as follows:

  • Irondequoit - Saturday, June 19 from 9 a.m. to noon at 2629 E. Ridge Road
  • Chili - Saturday, June 26 from 9:30 a.m. to noon at 200 Beaver Road
  • Sweden (drive-thru) - Saturday, August 14 from 9 a.m. to noon at 4927 Lake Road S.
  • Greece - Date pending - 5:30 p.m. to 7 p.m. -  647 Long Pond Road
  • Brighton - Saturday, October 2 - 10 a.m. to noon at 2300 Elmwood Avenue 

To pre-register for a clinic, contact the town that the clinic will be held in,

Written proof of prior vaccinations is required to get a three-year vaccination and tags will not be accepted.
