CANANDAIGUA, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Black Lives Matter Protest in underway in Canandaigua in Ontario County.
According to a post on the city's Facebook page, Canandaigua’s Police Chief Stephen Hedworth and Mayor Bob Palumbo are expected to attend.
Officials said they hope the event will be peaceful and respectful. They also urged people to wear face masks.
The protest is on South Main Street in Canandaigua and started at 2 p.m. Wednesday.
