BRIGHTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Brighton School Superintendent held a town hall meeting about re-opening Wednesday afternoon.
The Brighton Central School District plans to use a hybrid learning model.
Some students will attend in-person instruction on Monday and Thursday, and others will attend on Tuesday and Friday.
One of the concerns raised Wednesday night was students' mental health and the benefit of in-person instruction.
"That was a big piece of making sure we got to four out of six or five out of six that that human contact was so important,” Superintendent Kevin McGowan said. “Instruction is key, but so too is the social, mental, emotional part of that."
Friday, Brighton announced a bus driver shortage would necessitate a change to the plan presented Wednesday.
Two students will be allowed per seat.
There were no changes made to the instruction plan.
