ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The older brother of the man shot dead on Lapham Street on Thursday has been arrested for his murder.
The Rochester Police Department announced on Saturday that 31-year-old Robert Reen Jr. turned himself in after he was identified as the suspect in the death of 21-year-old Jordan Reen. Jordan had been found shot on Thursday on Lapham Street, where he was pronounced dead at the scene Police now say that the two Reens had been arguing on Thursday when it turned violent, leading Robert Jr. to grab a .22 caliber rifle and shoot Jordan multiple times outside the front door.
An investigation initially suggested that Reen Jr. had fled into 39 Lapham Street with a gun and barricaded himself inside, however it was later found that he was not inside, although a woman had barricaded herself in the building out of fear the suspect had come inside.
Reen Jr., a Rochester resident, is now facing Murder in the 2nd for the alleged fratricide and will be arraigned on charges on Monday at 9:30 a.m.
