ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Isabella Graham Hart School of Nursing held a bubble release in memory of Lisa Shuler.

Shuler was found dead last month. Her boyfriend is now facing murder charges.

Shuler was scheduled to graduate in the fall with her LPN.

Staff members tell News10NBC Shuler was a hard worker and someone who always had a smile on her face.

Dozens of staff members and students who once shared a classroom with Shuler gathered with signs, that said "Gone but never forgotten."

They all wore purple to remember her and all victims of domestic violence. Instead of letting balloons up to the sky, they blew bubbles.

Everyone News10NBC spoke with said she was someone they could rely on. They say what happened to her was unfair and it's a devastating thing to go through.

"We talked about everything together and even if we weren't here or at clinical we were still talking about our dogs and everything she was a really good friend and when I found out what happened last week my heart completely shrunk," said CNA Student Kayleigh Storms.

Many shared laughs and tears.

They said she was always telling jokes and was someone they could always confide in.
