ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — One of the Rochester area's most popular summer camps isn't waiting on a state decision on whether or not to cancel day camps.
Camp Stella Maris is off this year.
The board of directors sent a letter to families today.
Organizers say it was a difficult decision, but after consulting their medical team, they decided it wasn't safe.
Families who have already paid for camp can choose to rollover tuition for next summer, receive a full refund or donate it to the camp.
The board says 89% of the camp's revenue comes from summer tuition, and donations will help them make up the loss.
