Chief of Clinical and Forensic Services resigns amid questions about email involving Daniel Prude

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Chief of Clinical and Forensic Services at the Monroe County Office of Mental Health, Kim Butler, has resigned amid questions about an email in which she passed information about Daniel Prude’s psychiatric treatment to Rochester police.

Monroe County says it’s also reviewing communication between Forensic Intervention Team members and law enforcement.

Prude died in the hospital on March 23, seven days after he was arrested by police. He was not breathing and had no pulse when he was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital.

The circumstances surrounding his death, and the officials involved and what they knew are under investigation by the New York State Attorney General’s Office and the Rochester City Council.

Rochester’s Deputy Mayor also released documents from an investigation into the incident earlier this month.
