ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The child who was severely injured in a suicide and attempted murder last month at the South Avenue garage is out of the hospital, according to the Rochester Police Department.
RPD tells News10NBC the one-year-old boy was released from Strong Memorial Hospital last week, and has traveled back home to undergo "additional treatment."
The boy was hurt back on March 21 when police say his father jumped from the garage while holding the boy. RPD says his father was having a "psychotic breakdown".
The man, who was in his 40s, was pronounced dead at the scene, while the boy was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital in critical condition at the time.
Police say the family was from out of state and had just arrived in Rochester to visit an ailing family member.
