9 people from Monroe County under voluntary quarantine

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — There were 668 new confirmed cases of influenza in Monroe County between Feb. 2 and 8.

In total, that is 49 more cases than were present the week before.


Overall, there have been 3,679 confirmed cases of the flu and five deaths in the county since Oct. 1.

As of noon on Feb. 14, there are 9 individuals in voluntary self-quarantine due to recent returns from China in Monroe County.

None of them are showing any symptoms of having the novel coronavirus.

According to the CDC, there are 443 people under investigation for the virus across 42 states. There are only 15 people who have tested positive, 347 have tested negative and 81 have results pending.
