CHILI, N.Y. (WHEC) — A cross-state bike ride made a stop in Chili on Sunday to honor Brittanee Drexel, who has been missing since 2009.
The "Ride for Mile for Hope" kicked off in Buffalo on Sunday morning before it stopped in Chili. Drexel was first reported missing 12 years ago when she was 17.
Although the FBI now regards her case as a homicide, Brittanee's relatives say they have not given up hope.
"I'm so happy that they can help out and spread the word to the community that people still care," says Chad Drexel, Brittanee's father.
National Missing Childrens Day is Tuesday. The bicyclists hope to arrive in Albany by Wednesday.
