ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Henrietta man is in critical condition after a fiery crash in downtown Rochester Thursday morning, and it took a group of people to pull him out of his burning car.

Rochester Police and the Rochester Fire Department went to the scene of a crash with a car on fire at the Times Square Building on Exchange Street around 2:45 a.m.

Police say the driver struck the building, video from the scene taken by a witness showed the car was engulfed in flames.

News10NBC spoke to Roberto Hasbun, who helped rescue the man.

"As we approached the vehicle we saw fire, and a body," Hasbun said. "We ran to him as fast as we could to make sure we could remove him from the danger, the fire was increasing and there were pops."

The driver was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital and was the only person in the car. Police say there are no indications of a crime.
