It is March and there's been no shortage of madness on the courts. Though Buffalo has hosted a bit of the action, it's also home to a women's program with an Edison Tech grad who's opened some eyes.

Dyaisha Fair had put on a show this year for the University of Buffalo Women's basketball team.

The Rochester native averaged almost 23.5 points a game, the 4th best mark in NCAA Division 1.

It comes after a sophomore season last year when the Fair was given 1st team All-Mac and All-Defensive team honors. That came after she averaged 22 points a game as a freshman.

She can trace her success back to the 585 and recalls an interesting story from when she first tried out for Edison Tech varsity basketball as a freshman.

“I remember like the first day of tryouts, I believe I told the head coach that I would be the best player he ever seen or something along the lines. And he basically looked at me as if I was crazy. So, I mean, it went from there. And I showed him like that. I was serious. I take a lot of pride in what I do here. And what I'm a part of. And, of course, where I'm from, where I come from. It means a lot to me. So I feel like with me having the opportunity that I have, I need to, you know, use it to the best of my ability.”

The (13) Bulls fell to (4) Tennessee in the 1st round of the Wichita regional, 80-67. They finish the year at (25-9) overall.
