GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — A Greece family is displaced, but OK after what firefighters called an aggressive house fire on Clearwater Circle Tuesday night.

Firefighters say the flames started on the home’s exterior, burned through the roof, and into the home’s top floor.

Crews were able to get the fire under control in 20 minutes.

There were five adults home at the time, but they were able to get outside and firefighters say none of them were hurt.

North Greece Fire Chief Sam DeRosa said the damage is extensive.

"It’s not habitable at this point," DeRosa said. "Only for the fact that there was some trapped smoke and the associated health hazards that would go along with that so we’re going to get them housing for the night while they get this squared away."

Crews were able to get the fire under control in about 20 minutes.

Investigators are still working to determined the cause.
