ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Flower City Habitat for Humanity celebrated the construction of its 250th house in the Rochester area on Saturday.

The home builders celebrated a milestone for the organization at the build site on Campbell Street.

The group was joined by its sponsor, Excellus Blue Cross Blue Shield, as well as Mayor Malik Evans and Assemblyman Demond Meeks to mark the occasion.

"I want the community to know how thankful we are for their support because we could not build over 250 houses in Rochester without that support. There are literally thousands, tens of thousands of volunteers that make up that kind of milestone moment. So, we are in deep gratitude for their support," said Matthew Flanigan, President/CEO of Flower City Habitat for Humanity.
