ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Former Rochester Police Chief La’Ron Singletary is running for Congress.

He launched a website, saying the announcement will come on Nov. 4.

According to the Federal Election Commission, Singletary filed as a Republican candidate for New York’s 25th District.

That means he’ll challenge democrat joe morelle for his seat.

Singletary was fired by Mayor Lovely Warren last year following the death of Daniel Prude after he already announced a resignation date.

He’s currently suing the City of Rochester and Warren.
