MUMFORD, N.Y. (WHEC) —The Genesee Country Village and Museum got to its annual 4th of July celebration on Saturday.
The museum had just opened on Friday after being closed due to the pandemic, and it was just in time for families to come out and enjoy kid-friendly activities and demonstrations.
While many celebrations in the area had to be canceled due to the pandemic, the museum's president says they had the perfect spot for people to celebrate.
"We have a lot of open space, so we have hundreds of acres for people to be able to spread out to be socially distant," says the museum's president, Becky Wehle. "So we knew that we could accommodate the regulations that we needed to live by."
The 2020 festivities were the 45th year of 4th of July celebrations at the museum.
