Good Question: More delays for major bridge project?

ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The move caught many by surprise. Everyone thought the work on the historic Main Street Lift Bridge in Fairport was on time, and the bridge would be back open for drivers this month.

Then the New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) announced a snag in the project in October. Supply chain issues are delaying the finish until February.

That’s just half of the $16 million construction happening. What about on the west side and Fairport’s sister bridge project?

A viewer wanted to know: What is going on with bridge repair in Spencerport? When is it going to be done?

That work also came with an original November 2020 completion date. Is it now behind too? News10NBC’s Brennan Somers asked the NYSDOT.

Department officials say there no delays, and it should still reopen to traffic later this month.
