ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Greenlight is celebrating 10 years in the Greater Rochester community and a growing expansion plan.

The fiber internet network has invested more than $60 million in Monroe and surrounding counties, and now, they plan to make internet more accessible in 50 more neighborhoods by year’s end.

That’s 20,000 more households, but greenlight isn’t stopping there.

"We’re going to continue to grow that in the markets we’re looking at other places in the state and out of the state where we think our service would really resonate with people where they don’t have competition, and that’s, I think the biggest thing,” Founder and CEO Mark Murphy said. “Competition makes everyone better and not surprisingly, it makes service better and makes prices lower."

In honor of its anniversary, Greenlight is waiving installation fees until 11:59 p.m. Friday.
