BRIGHTON, N.Y. (WHEC) — A long-going tradition for a group of women continued Friday night.
They get together to play the game mahjong, a tile-based game developed hundreds of years ago in China.
They've been playing for 55 years, but they hadn't seen each other for months because of the pandemic.
News10NBC stopped by while they played outside Friday in Brighton.
"Now that we're not allowed to play indoors we asked our doctor's permission and she said we could play outside no serving cause we usually serve and we have to wear our masks," Gloria Hirschberg said.
"This has been like a ray of sunshine in our lives that we have something to look forward to and hang out with our girlfriends,” Barbara said.
The ladies say they're just happy to be together again.
