ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — Healthcare workers and others opposed to vaccine mandates held another rally outside Strong Memorial Hospital Monday afternoon.

The group held a protest outside of the hospital last week, but it’s grown since then.

The protests are in response to the COVID-19 rules set to go into place for Monroe County healthcare workers, along with Rochester Regional Health, and University of Rochester Medical Center employees.

One of the people News10NBC spoke to said she doesn’t feel the vaccine is safe enough for a mandate to be in place.

"I don’t think it’s necessarily considered safe at this point, there’s not enough studies, it hasn’t been around long enough," said Marlene Allen of Sodus. "I think that a lot of information is being kept from us and I don’t like that."

They will either have to get vaccinated or face weekly testing starting Sept. 8.
