Hilton principal accused of sexually abusing several students transferred to Niagara County Jail

LOCKPORT, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Hilton Elementary School principal accused of sexually abusing several students has been transferred to another correctional facility. 

According to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office inmate database, Kirk Ashton was moved from the Monroe County Jail to the Niagara County Jail on Friday. The move was listed as a "courtesy hold".

Ashton, who was the principal at Northwood Elementary School, is charged with nine counts of endangering the welfare of a child, six counts of first-degree sex abuse, and five counts of course of sexual conduct against a child.

State Police says there are currently nine victims who are all boys and were students at Northwood Elementary School. 

Ashton pleaded not guilty to nine felony charges on Wednesday.
