ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)— Do you hear that ringing? It’s the Salvation Army, which is kicking off its annual Red Kettle campaign!

The theme for 2021 is "Hope marches on."

You’ll see red kettles and bell ringers outside local businesses. There will also be signs with QR codes to make a donation from your phone. The organization says this year’s goal is to raise $400,000,

The money is not only used to help support families during the holidays, but all year-round.

"Last year, COVID hurt us in a lot of different ways, so kettles were tough to do and fundraising was hard," Major Doug Burr said. "But you know Monroe County has always loved the Salvation Army and they always step up and help so I’m confident the people here will continue to support us In amazing ways."

More information on the program, and how you can sign up to be a ringer can be found here.
