ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC)—New York State has launched a portal that allows you to find affordable internet service in your area.

The portal gathers cheap internet options already available to you, previously Governor Cuomo announced a push back in January to require low-cost internet options.

Monroe County Wednesday announced it had launched a task force to focus on connecting people to broadband internet access.

Overnight, we dug deeper into this.

In Monroe County: Spectrum and Frontier are your only low-cost options. Spectrum offers a $15 a month option, but only if a household qualifies for the National School Lunch Program. It's also available for those on social security.

Frontier has a low-cost option through lifeline, which is a federal benefit that lowers the monthly cost of phone or internet service.
