ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — In Monroe County, more than 70% of adults are vaccinated.

It's the same in Ontario County, but the rest of our area is lagging behind, as News10NBC Anchor Nikki Rudd explored in a Fact Check segment Thursday.

News10NBC went in-depth and took a closer look at vaccine hesitancy.

A new poll is shedding more light on the issue.

The African American Research Collaborative and the Commonwealth Fund surveyed more than 12,000 Americans.

Of those surveyed, 37% said they were reluctant to get shots.

Vaccine hesitancy was similar across most racial and ethnic groups but was the lowest among Asian-Americans and Pacific Islanders.

Sixty-seven percent of participants reported more than one barrier to getting a shot, like being too busy or not knowing how to do so.

When it comes to the biggest concerns, 40% cited the link between Johnson & Johnson's vaccine and blood clots.
