IRONDEQUOIT, N.Y. (WHEC) — The Town of Irondequoit announced its 2021 Independence Day celebrations, which include bringing back the Fourth of July parade and annual firework display. 

This is exciting news for many since last year's parade and firework display were canceled due to the pandemic. 

The line-up of Fourth of July activities are as follows:

  • 2 Mile Fun Run/10K Race - 8:00 a.m./8:30 a.m. at  445 Kings Highway South)
  • Independence Day Parade - 11 a.m. at Cooper Road and Titus Avenue
  • Reading of the Declaration of Independence - Approximately 1 p.m. at the steps of town hall campus 
  • Music with John Akers, food trucks will be on site - 3 p.m. to  5 p.m. on the town hall west lawn 
  • Fireworks Display - Approximately 9:30 p.m at the town hall campus & vicinity 

Town officials also announced they will be bringing back its complete two-day Independence Day celebration in 2022, including the street dance and craft fair on July 3.
