ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — A jury found a Fairport man guilty of stabbing his ex-girlfriend to death in Canandaigua last year.

William Fricke was found guilty of kidnapping Julie Baker on Jan. 2, 2020, at her friend's home in Canandaigua. Authorities say Fricke killed Baker during the kidnapping and attempted to kill 62-year-old Dennis Gruttadaro, the friend and witness, but he survived.

Fricke was found guilty on all charges, including first-degree murder, first-degree kidnapping, first-degree burglary, first-degree attempted murder, and first-degree assault.

Fricke is being held without bail and is scheduled to be sentenced on June 16 at 10 a.m. He faces 20 years to life in prison.

The trial began on April 14, and jury deliberations began Friday morning.
