GREECE, N.Y. (WHEC) — Greece Town Supervisor and member of the International Lake Ontario-St. Lawrence River Board Bill Reilich says lake outflows have never been higher, but he added that the inflows are equally as high.
Relich says the wild card is the wind.
"So we're trying to get rid of the water as fast as we can to help the residents, my main concern is the damage it causes on the southern shore of Lake Ontario in part of Monroe County and I’m very concerned about it," Reilich said.
Reilich says people along the shoreline are hoping for the best, but bracing for the worst.
He says that the Amry Corps of Engineers says there's only a 5% chance Lake Ontario levels will reach of water levels hitting 250 feet.
