Rebecca Brown is the owner of Inclusion Wellness Spa, and Lisa Schlonski owns a boutique called Lala of Webster. They connected with Lynette Adams and shared details of their experiences as small business owners who had to close shop during the pandemic.
Schlonski says she wrestled with thoughts like "what do I do with all this product that's just sitting there?" and "do I need to close my shop? Is this the time to do it?" before ultimately deciding to hang on through the uncertainty and plan for reopening.
Despite the uncertainty about the future of their businesses, Brown and Schlonski teamed up on Mothers Day to donate roses and and gift packages to ICU and ER nurses at Strong Hospital to say "thank you for being on the frontline."
Brown says she feels lucky that her whole staff will be returning to work. When asked if she had thoughts about closing during the pandemic, she says "giving up is not an option."
