NEW YORK (WHEC) — Some local Congressmen are trying to hold the International Joint Commission accountable for the damage done by recent flooding.

John Katko (R-24) joined Anthony Brindisi (D-22) in Oswego Monday to introduce the IJC Accountability Act.

If passed, the bill would strip the IJC of its immunity from lawsuits.

This would allow communities affected by Lake Ontario flooding to take legal action against the IJC for damages.
